The wood pays for itself
Fruit and nut trees are cheaper because the timber I collect offsets the cost of the job. The wood gets milled into bowls, furniture and crafts — nothing goes to waste.
When I remove a fruit or nut tree, I take usable cuttings for propagation and mill the trunk and branches into workable timber. That timber feeds directly into my craft work and handmade shop — so I can pass the savings back to you.
Common and standard trees are priced at normal rates because the wood is often less suited to fine craft and milling, though I am always happy to discuss keeping the timber if you have a project in mind.
Community orchards from cuttings
Every fruit and nut tree removal feeds into a wider goal: growing new community orchards from the very trees being taken down.
When I remove a fruit or nut tree, I carefully collect healthy cuttings for propagation. These cuttings are nurtured and planted to establish new orchards in the local area — giving back to the community and keeping heritage varieties alive.
It means your tree doesn't just disappear. A piece of it carries on growing, producing fruit, and benefiting the neighbourhood for years to come. That is the heart of the sustainable removal project.
If you know of a community space that could host an orchard, or would like to be involved in the project, mention it when you get in touch.
